Rock Creek Retrievers Hip & Eye Guarantee
To be covered by the Hip & Eye Guarantee:
- The dog must be registered in the original owners’ name, and have not been sold.
- The dog must not have whelped or sired a litter.
- The dog must be no more than 26 months of age.
In the event of suspected Canine Hip Dysplasia:
- Notify Rock Creek Retrievers by phone, mail, or e-mail.
- Submit radiographs taken by your veterinarian to the OFA for their interpretation.
- In the event that the OFA finds the dog to be dysplastic, a replacement will be made from the next available litter of similar breeding after the following has occurred:
- Receipt of a copy of the letter from the OFA stating the results of their x-ray evaluation.
- Receipt of a letter from your veterinarian stating that the dog has been euthanized, spayed, or neutered.
- Return of the AKC registration papers to Rock Creek Retrievers.
Rock Creek Retrievers will for no reason accept a dysplastic dog back to the kennel.
Rock Creek Retrievers will, under no circumstances, refund money that had been paid for the dog, or be
responsible for the cost of radiographs, radiographic interpretations, or any other vet bills incurred.
Interpretations of radiographic films by any groups other than the OFA will not be considered as valid
diagnosis of canine hip dysplasia.
In the Event of Suspected Heritable Eye Disease:
- Notify Rock Creek Retrievers by phone, mail, or e-mail.
- Have the dog examined by an ACVO (American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) accredited veterinarian.
- In the event the ACVO accredited veterinarian finds that the dog cannot be CERF certified, a replacement will be made from the next available litter of similar breeding after the following has occurred:
- Receipt of a letter from an ACVO veterinarian stating that the dog cannot be CERF certified.
- Receipt of a letter from your veterinarian stating that the dog has been euthanized, spayed, or neutered.
- Return of the AKC registration papers to Rock Creek Retrievers.
Rock Creek Retrievers will not accept a dog with hereditary eye disease back to the kennel.
Rock Creek Retrievers will, under no circumstances, refund money that had been paid for the dog,
or be responsible for the cost of tests or diagnostics, or any other vet bills incurred.
Diagnosis of hereditary canine eye disease by anyone other than an ACVO accredited veterinarian will not
be considered as valid diagnosis of canine hereditary eye disease.
